St Joseph's College, Bradford
Title: St Joseph's College, Bradford
Client: The Catholic Diocese of Leeds
Value: £2.2m
Working with the same surveying and architecture teams as on previous jobs for the Diocese, QSP were appointed to construct a new dining hall and teaching block.
Like all school building projects, our focus was to ensure work fitted around the day to day running of the school. Of particular importance was the need to accommodate the daily access and egress of school buses through the middle of the site.
Pre-work included demolition of the existing school dining block, removal of asbestos and re-routing of all underground services to the rest of the school in order to clear the site for the new building.
Thanks to our wealth of experience in school builds and an excellent working relationship with the client, surveying and architectural teams, the project ran like clockwork, finishing on time, on budget and with tributes from the client’s own clerk of works.
'Everyone here is delighted with the quality of the building and the fact that you finished it on time was a huge bonus for us. Communication was clear at every stage and you listened and responded to everything we had to say. Relationships were excellent throughout'.
Paul Heitzman, Executive Headteacher, St Joseph's Catholic College, Bradford
'I'm delighted to be able to say that after over 50 years within this industry, one of my final projects prior to retiring, has produced a building of truly outstanding quality. QSP have been pleasure to work with and the building is an absolute credit to their site team and supply chain. They were cooperative at every stage and I was made to feel welcome during every site inspection. It's the first time that I have had no comments to add to the site meeting agenda for the whole duration of a project.'
Geoff Smith, Clerk of Works, Catholic Diocese of Leeds
